Had our record run through rehearsal yesterday for the new speakeasy record we begin recording today. The vibe is right, the songs are ready and we are going to wrangle the spirit on this new record.

We’re inviting friends and fans to be a part of this to see the project to completion. We have a gifted team on board to make this record special. Grammy nominated engineer Earl Scioneaux III (Preservation Hall) will be capturing the songs and getting them ready for pressing.  My longest running partner in crime Casey McAllister (Happy Talk, The Myrtles, Bingo!) will be laying down hot licks on guitar and piano.  International man of music Joey Peebles (Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave) will be keeping us in the pocket on drums.  Charles “Swag” Lumar (Andrew Duhon) will be holding it steady on upright bass and sousaphone.  We’ll also have some more friends join in on harmonies, horns and more. 

This record will be a real statement of the times. Of the eternal push and pull between good and evil. Of the internal and external, micro and macro. It’s about our victories and defeats as individuals and as a society, and the beauty found in the in between. I’m really proud of these songs and know this record will be my best work to date.
